Let the Fun Begin!

Let the Fun Begin!

When I found out I was going to be the mom of two boys, I didn't know if I should be thrilled or scared out of my mind.  I was so glad to hear that Logan, my first born son, was going to have a built in best friend.  My motherly instinct had told me that I was having a girl.  I had bought the cutest pink Robeez with cupcakes on them before my ultrasound appointment.  I just knew I was having a girl.  Then, the moment came when the baby in my womb showed himself to be an exhibitionist.  Two boys!  Wow!  Logan was the perfect child, very verbal, extremley sensitive, insightful and as obedient as a parent of a 2 year old boy could ask for.  We could definitely handle two Logans.  What we weren't prepared for was Avery, Logan's baby brother who neither looked like him or acted like him.  Avery is full of energy, more talkative, more active, more emotional, more everything.  Avery is full of life and a complete joy but we weren't prepared for Jedi lightsaber fights, for non-stop wrestling, for hitting, kicking and biting and for Logan to be the first in tears almost every single time.  We are also overwhelmed with the amount of love the boys have and show for each other, the hugs, the desire to share a room forever, the sharing of favorite toys and the need to have each other nearby for any activity or outing.  I always knew one of my responsibilities as a parent would be master negotiator and that being a mom is hard work.  I also knew that this was going to be the most rewarding experience of my life and now that the boys are at an age where they talk to each other, argue with each other, fight with each other and play with each other, let the fun begin!
